Not exactly up to code, someone in the past decided this was the way to do a splice in a wall! That wall is at least 10 inches thick with R30 insulation squeezed between two 2×4 stud walls.

The plumbing mess (4/28/2013)
Amazed that we had any hot water flow at all! Look at trhe kink in the left pipe, especially, although BOTH were kinked!
New Kitchen Window (4/21/2013)
The old kitchen window was a single-hung vertically opening window that was dificult to open, especially when the kitchen sink was in place, so we decided to change to a slider.
Here’s what it looked like from outsde, before during the change.
And here’s what it looks like, now. And of course, the tradesmen must admire their work

A new home for the old cabinets (4/3/2013)
Before pictures taken 4/2/2013!
These pictures were taken on 4/2/2013. The cabinets were what was here when we bought this house. The stove is a loaner thanks to our neighbor, Dean Shetter. The dishwasher was put in before Thanksgiving 2012. We are going to put in a cooktop and a wall oven. The wall oven will go where the corner pantry closet is. The counter and and curtains below behind the dining table were not there when we moved in; this was just a temp setup until we put in upper and lower cabinets. It’s amazing to think we have the same-type space (“the cubbie”) that we had in Strongsville!
